SM STUDIO is a well acoustically adapted, compact mixing, mastering and production studio. It is supplied with carefully selected recording, mixing and mastering equipment. Thanks to its small size, it generates low maintenance costs, while using gear from the best worldwide known brands. This allows me to offer services that won’t cost a fortune, meeting the world quality standards at the same time. Mixing and mastering is usually done by taking what’s best out of two worlds – analogue and digital, resulting in a perfect hybrid combination.
In the studio I use Digital Audio Workstations such as CUBASE and REASON, along with UAD and WAVES plugins. Separately released groups of instruments from UAD and FOCUSRITE interfaces and DA converters being sent to an analogue summing mixer meeting an analogue process with devices from such brands as NEVE, LOOPTROTER, TLAudio, BETTERMAKER and WES AUDIO on the way.
For mobile recordings, I use MIDAS or YAMAHA consoles. They prove to be the best for obtaining very good quality for multi-track recordings, as they provide comfortable, zero latency monitoring for each musician at the same time. These recordings can take place almost anywhere: other studios, music venues,at home, in the rehearsal room etc. I come to them fully equipped.
On the other hand, there is the possibility of hiring a great sounding theatre or concert hall, which usually comes with a high-end piano. If this is within your budget, I know a few of very good and reliable halls in Poland. Or we can determine if there’s one near where you live.
Mastering is the last stage and the final processing of the mix. During mixing there is plenty of time for the creative process and looking for the right sound, fx. Whereas, during Mastering stage the most important thing is to make your song sounding profesional and getting the mix to translate in all conditions and on every speaker to the maximum of its capabilities.
Mastering not only makes the song louder and often improves the stereo image but also sounds deeper through the appropriate saturation of harmonics, analogue tape machine heads, tube compressions EQ, and limiters so that it does not degrade its dynamics.A professionally mastered mix should sound good in a club, TV, radio, headphones or streaming applications.
If you are serious about your project and want to prepare an album for a professional and commercial publishing, then you are in the right place.
Sound engineer, music producer, concert organizer.
Music is my greatest live passion and I’ve been in love with it since I can remember. I started in bands playing percussion instruments as a teenager. It was also the time when I started to be interested in recording these bands.
I started working as a sound engineer in 2006 when I was studying music technology and sound engineering at Burton College, UK. The beginnings were at the local pubs and clubs. After a while I gained experience at smaller festivals like WIRED and bigger ones like the national festival called ACOUSTIC FESTIVAL OF BRITAIN.
At the same time, I was constantly improving my skills in my home recording studio and in the ARCH RECORDINGS studio.
At the moment, apart from working in the recording studio, I’m involved in live sound engineering and production of the various gigs.
I believe working during gigs and festivals allows me to improve on a daily basis. As a result, I can get to know newest hardware solutions on a regular basis, which keeps me up to date. I also, often hear many great performers presenting different genres of music in one evening, and I can observe how their music and sound affect the audience. All of this, I later apply to my work at the studio. Sometimes these are lessons that no school or any course would ever be able to provide. In my opinion, focusing only on one side of the sound engineering, can lead to routine and this is the point when the art behind it ends.
Following this path, I have had the pleasure of working at festivals such as:
Przystanek Woodstock, Jarocin, Lato z Radiem, Jazz nad Odrą. Collaborate with bands and artists such as Sweet Noise, Oddisse & Good Company, Richard Galiano, Zee-Star, Richard Bona, Bartosz Kucz, Call Me Unique, Łukasz Kuropaczeski, Kuba Płucisz and Goście, Peja, Bednarek, Roz Bruce and many others.
In 2015/16, I was the main sound engineer and co-organizer of a series of concerts Żywiec Miejskie Granie in Poznań at Malta Lake. This festival won first prize for the best musical event of 2015 in Poland by Brief magazine. I was also the main audio engineer in the production of the World Cup in Rowing 2016/17. This event was broadcast live by nearly 50tv stations around the world.
